October 2002 Conference Report

WATAI held an exciting and successful fall conference. The October 2002 conference was one of the best so far. We were at a new location this year, the Tacoma Dome area for testing and the Tacoma Ramada Inn for the conference. Their service and accommodations were of the highest standards. State Farm Insurance Company gave us a 2001 Saturn and a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero for pedestrian collision testing. Jerry Eubanks and Tom Fugger came up from California to conduct the tests and share their knowledge with us. Jerry and Tom’s expertise in this area is known worldwide and they gave us their best. Conferences like this show all the more that WATAI is committed to promote and assist professional collision investigators in improving and developing their skills.

During our business meeting we filled empty seats on the Executive Board and discussed holding a joint conference with the Forensic Accident Reconstructionists of Oregon (FARO) next year. There are some great plans in the works. If you are not a member of WATAI, consider the benefits of individual and/or corporate membership.
