VLIET & O'NEILL, LLC is a consulting engineering firm that specializes in motor vehicle crash reconstruction and traffic engineering. The two principals, Daniel W. O'Neill, P.E. and William A. Vliet, P.E have 30 years experience in the civil engineering field between them, with the majority of their work being in the traffic engineering arena.
Mr. Vliet and Mr. O'Neill are accredited traffic accident reconstructionists. Their knowledge of the roadway system and its intended function brings a very important background understanding to the field of accident reconstruction. They provide reconstruction services to private and public sector clients and have given expert testimony in depositions, arbitrations and trials in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey. Mr. Vliet and Mr. O'Neill both have given numerous seminars and lectures concerning the importance of accident evidence collection which is the foundation to the reconstruction process. They are also members of the Manchester Police Department's Accident Reconstruction Team, which has given them important on-scene accident experience.
As licensed Professional Engineers, Mr. Vliet and Mr. O'Neill are well aware of the issues involved in traffic design, from both sides of the design process. Mr. Vliet was a traffic engineer for a municipality, Mr. O'Neill was a traffic engineer for the State of Connecticut, and both have designed traffic improvements on behalf of private developers. They are well versed in proper traffic engineering design, and also in the approval processes of many municipalities, and of the State Traffic Commission. VLIET & O'NEILL, LLC provides traffic engineering services to private sector clients, and to municipalities for both internal issues and reviews of developer's proposals.
