Thank you for expressing an interest in TAARS. Normally, TAARS holds two (2) mini-seminars, one in February and one in September, and an annual meeting, in May or June, each year. The mini-seminars begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon and conclude around 1:00 or 2:00 p.m. on the following day. The annual meeting is a two to three day affair, in which we attempt to hold classroom style lectures and field projects/testing of some sort. By having three meetings per year, we feel more members have an opportunity to attend and interact with associates and counterparts. In addition, by scheduling the mini-seminars to conclude in the early afternoon on Saturday, the members are able to return home to their families before the end of the weekend. The cost of attending the meetings is set according to the cost of producing each individual meeting. TAARS also awards scholarships to accident related schools. A minimum of two scholarships are awarded every year. The Emmett Williams scholarship sends two people to a Traffic Accident Reconstruction Course. The Conrad Dippel scholarship pays $1000 to a regular member to attend the accident related school of his choice. As a sampling of the subject matter covered at our meetings, during previous mini-seminars we have had lectures on photography, making and presenting demonstrative evidence, time and distance studies, multi- piece wheels, tire failure analysis, and skid testing of ABS equipped vehicles. TAARS publishes a newsletter after each meeting and actively seeks articles for publication. If you have any ideas, comments or suggestions you would like to see published or, if you have published any articles and would like to share them, we would be most happy to include them in the newsletter. We look forward to meeting you at a future meeting. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call. Sincerely, Randall Dodd, President
