The Pennsylvania
State Police are charged with enforcing the laws of the commonwealth,
detection of crime, the apprehension of criminals, and the preservation
of law and order throughout the state. In 1905, the Pennsylvania
State Police became the first uniformed police organization of its
kind in the United States and a model for other state police agencies
throughout the nation. In 1933, the Pennsylvania State Police became
the largest accredited police agency in the world. The Pennsylvania
State Police truly represent, "People Serving People."
