The Willoughby Hills Police Departent consists of 17 full-time officers, 7 part-time officers and 7 civillian employees. The City of Willoughby Hills has an estimated population of 9,000 residents and encompasses approximately 12.5 square miles.

The Traffic Bureau consists of three motorcycle officers under the supervision of Sgt. Brian Jackson. Their primary duty is traffic safety enforcement. Patrolman Craig Anderson is an accident reconstructionist and is responsible for investigating serious injury and fatal accidents. The Willoughby Hills Police Department investigates on an average between 900 and 1000 accidents a year, of which approximately 20% involve injury, and approximately 1-2 fatal accidents per year.
