The mission of the Allen County Sheriff's Department is to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Allen County by professionally working in partnership to provide safety, security and service to the community while upholding the constitutional responsibilities of the Office of Sheriff.

Allen County Sheriff's Traffic Crash Team

Early in the Administration of Sheriff Samuel A. Crish there was determination that a need existed for the officers of The Allen County Sheriff’s Office needed to be trained in extensive traffic accident investigation and accident reconstruction.

There are currently eight officers assigned to this team, who are on call at minutes’ notice to respond to major traffic events in Allen County, which also includes fatal traffic crashes.

This team is trained to a significant level utilizing the latest in measure devices, mathematical formulas, and computer modeling reconstruction programs for accurately investigate and recording data of traffic crashes.
