serve the citizens and the highway users of Nevada in a manner which assures

or other agencies with emergencies or needs of assistance; we will be vigilant
in identifying and assuring the prompt mitigation of highway hazards; we
will continuously seek opportunities to educate and inform the Nevada community
about traffic safety; and we will aggressively enforce the laws of Nevada
in a caring manner, with courtesy and impartiality. We will nurture a workplace

Mission:
Enforce the traffic laws of the state, investigate traffic collisions, enforce
and regulate motor carriers transporting cargo and hazardous materials,
maintain Nevada's central Criminal History Repository, and operate statewide
message switcher to process criminal justice information.
Goals:
- To improve the quality of service provided to citizens
and visitors using Nevada highways.
- To gain voluntary public compliance with traffic
laws by providing meaningful traffic safety education to the broadest
possible segment of citizens and highway users,
- To reduce the frequency and severity of collision
events through applied enforcement techniques targeting causative violations,
- To reduce commercial vehicle collisions and hazardous
material releases through inspections and enforcement, targeting safety
defects, driver deficiencies, and unsafe motor carrier fleet practices.
- To coordinate, audit, and train criminal justice users
and maintain criminal history files, wanted persons files, point-of-sale
background checks for firearms sales to state, local and authorized private
agencies.
