The Brea Police Department serves both the communities of Brea and the city of Yorba Linda. Located in the foothills of north Orange County, the cities of Brea and Yorba Linda comprise a daily population of about 160,000 people. The communities consist of a diverse residential, industrial and commercial environment including the 99 acre Brea Mall regional shopping center.

Brea Traffic Division

Traffic safety, congestion and traffic flow are a major concern of the Brea Traffic Division. The goal of the Traffic Division is to create a safe driving environment for residents and commuters. Brea and Yorba Linda are accessed by two major freeways, the Orange (57) and the Riverside (91) and a major highway, Imperial (90), all of which bring in additional commuter traffic. The access to the Orange County landfill located in Brea increases the amount of commercial traffic experienced on Imperial Highway Monday through Saturday and poses additional concerns.
