INTRODUCTION
Welcome
to the August/September 2002 edition of the Accident Reconstruction
Newsletter. Many of you may have noticed August came and
went without a newsletter from us. The reason we decided
NOT to create and send a newsletter is because we were so
busy with all the details of our first crash conference
we really did not have enough good content to put together
a newsletter. We never want to send anything out to the
members and guests of the ARC Network unless it is worthwhile.
Instead we have combined the August and September newsletter
into one issue.
August was a
very special month for the ARC Network. It was out first full-scale
crash conference. A good time was had by all as were a couple great
days of lectures and learning. The crash test day was also the setting
of a personal car-to-car crash speed record for Rusty Haight - approx.
52 mph! It was a spectacular crash. After reviewing all of the evaluations
we can chalk this up as a successful conference. If you missed this
one, be sure to sign-up for our conference next year.
The ARC-CSI
Conference also rewarded the ARC Network with some very valuable
contacts. In the very near future we will be working directly with
NHTSA to provide valuable research information and programs they
are working on. There will be a new section of the ARC Network dedicated
to NHTSA.
Now that the
conference is over, it is back to business with the ARC Network.
We have been working on contacting State Police Agencies and introducing
them to the new Police Department Membership in the ARC Network.
To date we have signed up 30% of all state agencies! In addition,
we have another 9 in the purchase order phase. This membership is
open to both Local and State agencies.
We have also
been working on improving the Member's only section; the vehicle
stats and stiffness database in particular. We now have a printable
format for the vehicle specs and will soon add personalization to
each report. We are currently working on the perfecting the data
and presentation of the Crush Stiffness Database.
The
ARC Network continues to receive over 550,000 hits to the
web site each month (we are very close to the 600,000 mark
and may hit it this month!). The number of user-sessions
are also increasing each month. Our membership base continues
to rise as well. We now have over 300 members! With your
support, The ARC Network has become the number one organization
for Accident Reconstruction research, communications and
marketing.
The
ARC Network is able to operate based on membership dues
and advertisers. Please help support this network by becoming
a member. As a member you have full access to the Member's
Only section that hosts a vehicle specs database, crush
stiffness database, crash test clips, technical papers and
more. As a member you will also be placed in the Expert
