The program will premiere on Discovery Channel on Sunday, November 21 at 8pm and midnight (EST). However, please check your local listings to be sure of the time. It will show again on November 28 (the following Sunday) at 5pm (EST).

On October 5, 1999 in London, England a shattering train collision near Paddington Station during rush hour Tuesday morning killed at least eight people and injured scores. The crash happened in Ladbroke Grove in west London, about a mile (1.2 km) from Notting Hill.

This was a terrible crash and certain safety measures might have been able to prevent it from ever happening. For full news articles, photos, video coverage, audio and research links please visit the following URL: http://www.accidentreconstruction.com/reports/londontrain/

***** THE ARC NETWORK MEMBERSHIP *****

We receive many requests asking how to become a member and what are the benefits. All the information about being a member and what it entails in located in the membership section. The following is a brief recap about membership:

There are three levels of membership: Basic, Gold and Platinum.

  • Basic membership is the most popular. For $35 per year you are listed in our Expert Directory with contact information. You also receive a membership card and certificate. In addition, you will also receive a discount to all ARC Network crash tests and seminars (just attending one crash test or seminar will more than pay for your membership).
  • Gold memberships take it a step further. In addition to everything in the basic membership you will also receive your own web page that lists your C.V. This is very effective for potential clients to see your qualifications. This membership is $100 per year.
  • Platinum memberships take full advantage of the web. In addition to everything in a basic and gold you also receive an additional 2 web pages to further promote your business. Here you can explain your services and promote certain areas of your business, think of it as your online color brochure. For just $200 per year this is much more cost effective than sending out color brochures plus you can make changes without the expense of reprinting!

No matter what level of membership you choose, we promote everyone equally.

There are four main benefits of membership: exposure, credibility, cost-effectiveness and support.

  • Exposure: The ARC Network is rapidly becoming one of the most visited and trusted Internet sites for Accident Reconstruction. The audience that The ARC Network attracts is fellow Reconstructionists and Investigators, Engineers, Attorneys, Insurance Companies and Government Entities. As you can see, this pinpoints the audience that should know about your services. Whether you are just starting your Accident Reconstruction business or you are already established, the more professionals that are familiar and aware of your services the more likely your business will grow and succeed.
  • Credibility: The Internet is where technology has led us and is where the world is progressing. Now is the time to be a part of this great new technology as it relates to your industry. The ARC Network is where you will come for up-to-date industry news and cutting-edge research, as well as finding classes and seminars to keep your C.V. current. The past 6-months have proven to many people that the ARC Network is the premier web site for the Accident Reconstruction community.
  • Cost-effectiveness: For all the promotion and service we provide to our members, we feel we are providing an extremely cost effective membership price. When you compare our prices to that of other web companies, print advertising and distribution lists you quickly see the value of the ARC Network.
  • Support: It is through membership that this site can continue to operate. The ARC Network has chosen not to charge a "user fee" to access and use the site. Some business executives have criticized us for not taking that route, but we feel that the information should be available to everyone, free of charge. However, we feel that there are more than enough benefits to join the expert directory and that in turn will help us staff and continue to build and provide the information and service you expect from a professional organization.

***** DISCUSSION FORUM WORKS*****

The ARC Network has implemented its new discussion forum - the discussion area of the ARC Network is the area you will be able to communicate with others in the industry of accident reconstruction. In the discussion forum you can post questions, answer questions, or simply view what others are posting. In addition, you can also search the discussion forum based on keywords.

Here is just one example of how the discussion forum helped:

On September 14, Charles J. Freytag posted some information about his girlfriend being in a broadside accident. He went on to explain the circumstances. His concern was the police report was taken 100% from the witness's account of the accident. He is a friend of the driver of the Buick, which we did not find out till after the police report was completed.

Because of certain individuals who took the time to help Charles with this accident scenario the following outcome took place:

"I want to thank everyone who looked at this.. We managed to get the Police Dept. to reinvestigate the accident and after having one of there Reconstructionists review the data he concluded that there needed to be a supplemental Police report wrote (Which we received Last Thursday) with a more accurate account of the accident.. I personally want to thank everyone again for all the help.."

This is just one example of the value this discussion forum provides. Please help others in and out of the industry with their questions that are posted.

The ARC Network Discussion Group is located at the following URL: http://www.accidentreconstruction.com/discussion/year2/index.htm

***** TIP OF THE MONTH *****

Specific News: By now most of you are familiar with the industry news updates that appear daily on the homepage of the ARC Network. You also probably know that all of the news articles that have ever been posted the ARC Network are available in the News section. However, the tip for this month is that there is another place in the ARC Network to find news articles - the Research Section. We have recently adopted the notion of placing all relevant news articles in certain research sections. To clarify, there is a research topic named "Airbags and Restraint Systems". When you click on that link the first thing you will see is all the recent news articles that deal with airbags and restraint systems.

We hope that this feature helps narrow your search time for specific articles. We are currently working on our news article archives to update all research sections.
