| NOVEMBER 2004 - Accident Reconstruction Newsletter Crash Data Retrieval Certification Classes and Training Certified Vetronix CDR Training Courses Crash Data Retrevial Specialist Course
This course offers the collision reconstructionists information on the functions of the automobile Event Data Recorder (EDR), its history and evolution as well as how to actually conduct a download under a variety of conditions using the Vetronix Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) System. A section on data accuracy and reliability based on real crash test data completes the program with a hands on lab where participants individually download data using the CDR system on both GM and Ford vehicles currently covered by software version 2.x(series). Major course topics include:
Ownership of the Vetronix CDR System, although suggested, is not required and the design of this course is such that even those who have not yet obtained a system will better understand this evolving technology and benefit from the information. Course completion meets the requirements for the Vetronix CDR System Operator individual certification. This course has been pre-approved for 18 ACTAR CEUs. It is conducted over a full 24 hours over 3 days starting at 8am each day and those attending should not expect to leave on the third day before 4pm/1600 hours. W.R.
