RCMP standardize on VS Investigator Suite as the premium diagramming tool.

After an exhaustive review of diagramming tools available, VS Investigator Suite beat out the competitors to become the diagramming tool of choice within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba divisions. Other divisions are following soon.

RCMP collision reconstruction experts formed part of the design focus group which greatly assisted VS Visual Statement, Inc. developers in providing advanced functions in the Vista diagramming tool. Volvo's WHIPS Proven to Reduce Head and Neck Injury by 49 Percent

IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Volvo's Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS), first introduced in 1999 as a safety device for front seats designed to reduce head and neck injuries in rear-end collisions, received independent verification today of its overall effectiveness in a study released by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The study, conducted by IIHS using data from rear-impact injury insurance claims submitted from three major insurance companies, discovered that "the key to reducing injury risk in rear-end crashes is to keep the head and torso moving together." IIHS stated that Volvo's Whiplash Protection System design reduced head and neck injuries by limiting forward acceleration of the torso in relation to the head in a rear-end collision.

Crash Test Results, Rollover Ratings for 2002, 2003 Models on NHTSA's Web Site

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) crash test results and rollover ratings for selected 2002 and 2003 models are now available on the agency's web site: www.nhtsa.dot.gov.

Rated for rollover resistance are the 2002 Honda Civic two-door hatchback, MINI Cooper two-door coupe, Audi A4 four-door sedan, BMW 3-series four-door sedan, Subaru Impreza four-door wagon, Honda CR-V 4x2 four-door utility, Saturn VUE 4x2 four-door utility, Dodge Ram 1500 4x2 four-door pickup, and the Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 four-door pickup. The 2003 Acura 3.2 TL four-door sedan and the Cadillac CTS four-door sedan are also rated.

Rated for frontal impact are the 2002 Acura RSX two-door coupe, MINI Cooper two-door coupe, BMW 325i four-door sedan, Daewoo Nubira four-door sedan, Ford Focus four-door sedan, Hyundai Sonata four-door sedan, Kia Spectra four-door sedan, Nissan Altima four-door sedan, Saab 9-5 four-door sedan, Subaru Impreza four-door wagon, Subaru Legacy four-door sedan, Toyota Camry four-door sedan, Acura MDX 4x4 four-door utility, Chevrolet Trailblazer 4x4 four-door utility, Ford Explorer Sport 4x4 two-door utility, GMC Envoy 4x4 four-door utility, Honda Passport 4x4 four-door utility, Infiniti QX4 4x4 four-door utility, Isuzu Axiom 4x4 four-door utility, Isuzu Rodeo 4x4 four-door utility, Land Rover Discovery 4x4 four-door utility, Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 four-door utility, Nissan Xterra 4x4 four-door utility, Oldsmobile Bravada 4x4 four-door utility, Toyota Highlander 4x4 four-door utility, Dodge Dakota 4x2 extended cab pickup, Dodge Ram 1500 4x2 four-door pickup, Nissan Frontier 4x2 extended cab pickup, Chrysler PT Cruiser van and the Honda Odyssey van.
