| MAY 2005 - Accident Reconstruction Newsletter ARC-CSI Crash Tests The tests covered in this conference were conducted by the Collision Safety Institute in conjunction with the ARC Network on June 6-7, 2005. The tests were used to illustrate conference focus areas. Following is an overview of the tests: Crash Test #1-2 North Las Vegas PD sponsored research into the effect of push bumpers on deployments, occupant exposure and motion. Examination compared two Crown Vics in low closing speed and then higher closing speed events.
Crash Test #3 and #5
Crash Test #4 2001 Crown Victoria (w/push bar) head-on into 1998 Hyundai Sonata at about 36 miles per hour.
Crash Test #6 1997 Crown Vic head-on into 1992 Hyundai Sonata w/front child seat at about 34 miles per hour
Crash Test #7 1986 Mazda RX7 into the rear of a trailer at about 27 miles per hour
Crash Test #8 Multi-vehicle crash. Pontiac Grand Prix at about 27 miles per hour into the rear of the Mazda RX7 which was pushed into the rear of the trailer.
Crash Test #9 Multi-vehicle crash. Pontiac Grand Am at about 44 miles per hour into the rear of the Cavalier which was rotated and pushed underneath the side of the trailer.
