INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the May 2002 edition of the Accident Reconstruction Newsletter. Last month most of you received a post card from the ARC Network announcing the ARC-CSI Crash Conference and also listing a special offer for early registration. If you signed the ARC Network Guest Book and provided your address - you were sent a post card.

Last month we concentrated on helping the Police Departments around the United States. Many of the officers that work in the department have budgetary concerns which limits them from becoming members of the ARC Network. So, we put together a very affordable plan for police departments. We contacted all the state agencies last month and have just begun implementing the Police Directory. So far, we have signed on Michigan State Police, Arizona State Patrol, Township of Bristol (PA), and Minnesota State Patrol. The feedback from these departments have been great. The ARC is pleased to be able to help out and work with all these fine officers.

Another big project the ARC Network is working on is a consumer section linked to the ARC. This new section will be helpful to the consumer who has been in an accident. One of the features of this new area is an attorney directory. This new section will help complete the cycle of an accident. An accident occurs, the persons involved can go to the ARC Network and learn what to do, one of the options is to retain an attorney. The attorney can then use the ARC Network to research the case and retain an expert. The expert, in turn, can use the resources of the ARC Network to help prepare for the case. Along the way, the ARC also will have links to police departments, claims adjusters and others that are involved in the process. We are planning on a September 2002 launch for the new section.
