INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the March 2003 issue of the Accident Reconstruction Newsletter. 2003 has began with a bang. We are no receiving over 30,000 hits to the web site each day, bringing us close to the million hits per month club!

The past couple months we have been busy submitting information to various magazines detailing what the ARC Network is and what we have to offer. We were pleasantly surprised that many of the magazines were impressed with the ARC Network and have are are willing to publish our articles as editorials. In February 2003, the first article appeared in "PORAC" magazine (Peace Officers Research Association of California). This month we are featured in "American Police Beat". Also this month we will be appearing in the "International Association of Chiefs of Police" magazine. Next month we will be featured in "The Internet Journal of Rescue and Disaster Medicine". In May we will be featured in "Wisconsin Professional Police Association" and in July "Law and Order Magazine". This is all a part of getting the word out about the ARC Network and the services we provide to the accident reconstruction and traffic investigation community.

The ARC Network is currently developing added features to our web site. One of which in a web-based version of the Sisters and Clones database (Vehicle Interchange). Other projects include a revised crush stiffness database, access to all NHTSA crash test reports (PDF format) and integrating the Sisters and Clones database into the online vehicle specs database and crush stiffness database. Later this year we will be launching our online equation solver.

In other news, we are getting closer to the ARC-CSI Crash Conference in Las Vegas. The conference will be held at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino June 9-12, 2003. This four-day conference will feature three (3) full days of speaker presentations from industry experts and one (1) full day of real world crash testing. At the conclusion of the conference, all attendees will leave with a CDROM of the entire conference including all crash test video, data, digital pictures, CDR data, speaker presentations, and other goodies. Complete information is located on the ARC-CSI 2003 web page. ARC Network members receive $50 off the price of admission (that is more than the cost of a basic annual membership!). The deadline for registration is May 7, 2003 - click here for the registration form.

The ARC Network is able to operate and provide all its information through membership, sponsorship and advertising. Please help support the ARC Network by becoming a member.
