| June/July 2004 Welcome to the June/July 2004 issue of the Accident Reconstruction Newsletter. Each year we combine the June and July issue due to our annual crash conference. We will be back on the normal distribution schedule of the Accident Reconstruction Newsletter in August. Last month the ARC Network and Collision Safety Institute hosted the 3rd Annual ARC-CSI Crash Conference. We would like to thank everyone who attended and supported this conference for making it a success. Once again we held the crash testing at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway where we conducted several crash tests, including car-to-barrier and car-to-car crashes. We were able to retrieve data on both non-deploy barrier crashes and well as full-deploy barrier crashes. The same holds true for the car-to-car crashes. This year we also conducted a closing speed car-to-car crash and a series of low speed crash tests. Tim Reust was also on hand at the track conducting acceleration and deceleration tests with a commercial vehicle. He also provided attendees with the opportunity to witness ECM downloads. The ARC Network would like to thank Ron Probert (ARC Member) for driving the truck down from Utah for us to use. The crash testing was followed with 3 more days of speaker presentations from industry experts. Based on the evaluations collected from the conference, attendees were very pleased with the conference and would even have liked more time for the speaker presentations. If
you missed this years ARC-CSI Crash Conference, This new web site, www.crashconferences.com, was developed to be an easy to remember web site for locating and registering for crash conferences throughout the United States and Canada. Also included on this site are links to various training classes and educational material. This new web site is not meant to replace the ARC Network Events Calendar, it is meant to coincide with it to give more detail about crash conferences and seminars. This new web site is also the new home of the ARC-CSI Crash Conference web site. The ARC-CSI web site contains information on all the past conferences and information regarding the next conference to be held in 2005. Here is the link: www.crashconferences.com/conferences/arccsi.html. If you would like to host your organizations crash conference web site on www.crashconferences.com, please let us know by sending and email. If
you know of a conference you would like listed on this site,
The ARC Network would like to thank everyone for continuing to make the ARC Network the number one web site for accident reconstruction and traffic investigation. |
