INTRODUCTION
Welcome
to the July 2002 edition of the Accident Reconstruction
Newsletter. We are only a couple of weeks away from our
first crash conference. For those who have hosted a crash
conference you know how time consuming it is and how much
organization goes into it. The conference is coming together
and we still have some room left. So if you are planning
on attending, send in your registration. The hotel (Radisson)
also extended the room discount through Friday July 26,
2002.
June
and July were big months for police departments and the
ARC Network. We are now working with 8 police departments
and approximately 12 are in the process of joining the ARC.
The
ARC Network also added a couple new companies to our products
directory. If you haven't seen them yet, they are worth
checking out. The first is Vericom
Computers. They make devices that measure acceleration
and deceleration. The other one is Trancite
Logic Systems, an industry leader in software and services
supporting transportation and public safety organizations.
They make Easy Street
Draw, an integrated crash scene drawing software program.
The
ARC Network was also invited to attend the filming of British
Television show "100 Things I Want To Do Before I Die".
One of them was to be a human crash test dummy. For this
segment, we crashed a Chevy Caprice into a Chrysler LaBaron
at about 35 mph. Rusty Haight was the driver of the Caprice
and a fellow from England was in the passenger seat. We
also placed a crash test dummy in the drivers seat of the
LaBaron. It was a great crash and all airbags deployed!
You can view the entire video segment in the Member's
Only section of the ARC Network.
The
ARC Network is consistently receiving over a half-million
hits to the web site each month. The number of user-sessions
are also increasing each month. Our membership base continues
to rise as well. We now have over 300 members! With your
support, The ARC Network has become the number one organization
for Accident Reconstruction research, communications and
marketing.
The
ARC Network is able to operate based on membership dues
and advertisers. Please help support this network by becoming
a member. As a member you have full access to the Member's
Only section that hosts a vehicle specs database, crush
stiffness database, crash test clips, technical papers and
more. As a member you will also be placed in the Expert
Directory. If you haven't joined the ARC yet, please visit
our membership section.
Thank
you again for supporting the ARC Network. Please use the
navigation links to the left for the rest of the newsletter....
