East Penn Woman Killed In One-Car Crash
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP
An East Penn Township woman was killed Saturday when the car
in which she was riding hit a tree and flipped over on Fairyland Road in
Franklin Township.
The accident in which Brooke L. Rehrig, 20, died happened
at about 3 a.m., Franklin Township Patrolman Robert Compton wrote in his
report.
The driver of the car, Daniel Graver, 23, of Parryville, was
injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment, said Patrolman Frank
Buonaiuto. No other information was released on his condition.
He said charges may be filed in the case pending the outcome
of an investigation by Compton and state police at Hazleton's accident reconstruction
unit.
Compton wrote that Graver was driving on Fairyland Road in
the Kriss Pines area when he lost control of the car, which hit a tree and
then flipped down an embankment.
Rehrig, a graduate of Lehighton Area High School, was pronounced
dead at the scene, he said.
