Flexpoint Completes Comprehensive Testing of the Pedestrian
Impact System
DRAPER, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 20, 2005--Flexpoint
Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:FLXT - News) today announced they have recently
completed the current phase of internal testing of their Pedestrian Impact
Detection System as requested by European and U.S. Automotive Suppliers.
This fulfills a requirement and brings Flexpoint closer to consummating
an agreement.
Flexpoint's Pedestrian System recently completed extensive
testing following protocol created by European Enhanced Vehicle-Safety Committee
guidelines. The results confirmed the system is capable of distinguishing
between a human leg and inanimate objects within milliseconds. Upon impact,
the Bend Sensor® can trigger a safety response which may include raising
the hood, lowering the engine block, or tightening the seat belt.
"Our Pedestrian Impact System has now been tested by
Tier 1 suppliers, auto makers, and our engineering team proving its ability
time and time again," stated CEO of Flexpoint, Clark Mower. "This
vigorous process is characteristic of the auto industry, especially when
they are evaluating technology that could potentially save lives. We are
sharing these results with the automotive suppliers including the company
that required this data prior to entering into a joint relationship."
"In addition, we are receiving renewed interest in our
Seat Occupant Detection System by both European and North American Tier
1 suppliers. We have already supplied samples and may be providing additional
samples for testing of this application by the end of the year."
Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. has developed and patented
the Bend Sensor® technology. The Bend Sensor is a technological breakthrough
that offers a superior solution for applications that require accurate measurement
and sensing of deflection, acceleration and range of motion. Global market
opportunities include automotive, medical, industrial controls, government,
health and fitness, security, computer, aerospace, transportation and consumer
products.
