WARWICK — A 17-year-old boy was killed late last night when he was struck by a car on Bald Hill Road by the Kent County Court House.
The police said the teenager, whose name was not released, may have been riding either a bicycle or a skateboard at the time of the 10:20 p.m. accident.
“Our accident reconstruction [unit] is still out there on the scene,” Lt. Joseph Coffey said shortly after 11 p.m. “They’re talking to witnesses. I just don’t have a lot of details yet.”
Coffey said the car appeared to have somehow collided with the teenager, but he could not say how exactly how the accident took place.
The driver of the car was not cited in the crash, though that person — who was not identified — remained on the scene with the police last night, Coffey said.
The boy was reportedly taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
