Ford, Nissan, Toyota vans do well in safety tests

WASHINGTON, Jan 6 (Reuters) - Ford Freestar, Mercury Monterey, Nissan Quest, and Toyota Sienna vans earned top ratings in driver and front passenger safety in frontal impact crash tests, the U.S. government said on Tuesday.

The crash test results were among the first for 2004 model vehicles released by the Transportation Department's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
