DaimlerChrysler recalls 61,000 Mercedes sedans
DETROIT, Dec 21 (Reuters) - DaimlerChrysler
AG (DCXGn.DE: Quote, Profile, Research) (DCX.N: Quote, Profile, Research)
is recalling 61,000 Mercedes C-Class sedans because of irregularities involving
airbags during government compliance testing, U.S. safety regulators said.
The recall affects C-Class sedans with sports model steering
wheels from the 2005-2006 model years, the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration said.
Mercedes dealers will install a new air bag inflator module
as part of the recall, NHTSA said on its Web site on Wednesday.
