The driver of the Honda was a 26-year-old female, and was transported to Swedish Hospital with serious injuries. It does not appear, at this time, that those injuries are life-threatening.
Two other vehicles received minor damage, and those drivers were not injured. The identities of the individuals involved in this accident are not being released pending the notification of family members.
Littleton Police Detectives and Accident Reconstruction Experts were on the scene, and the investigation will continue. It is unknown at this time why the Mercedes was on the wrong side of the highway. The location of the accident was on a divided portion of the roadway, with a raised center median. The Mercedes appears to have entered the southbound lanes at the intersection of South Prince Street, and the accident occurred several hundred feet north of that intersection. The highway was closed for several hours as part of the investigation.
