Flexpoint Engages MGA Research to Verify Pedestrian Impact Test Results

DRAPER, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2006--Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:FLXT - News) announced today the company will submit its Pedestrian Impact Detection System to MGA Research to validate the system's ability to differentiate between a human leg and an inanimate object as required in the company's protocol for Stage II testing.

MGA Research is widely recognized as one of the leading independent automotive testing corporations with facilities in New York, Michigan and Wisconsin. MGA has conducted automotive safety tests since 1980 and list the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as one of its first customers, a relationship which is very strong today.

MGA Research will analyze Flexpoint's Pedestrian Impact Detection System through a series of testing procedures to verify that the system can accurately and reliably distinguish between a human leg and a pole during impact. These results will then be shared with automakers and suppliers to expedite the system to market.

"The interest in our technology continues to increase through our presence at industry exhibitions, and safety summits," stated Flexpoint's CEO Clark Mower. "The results that we obtained in our testing program exceeded our own expectations. In addition to verifying the results of our testing program, the independent testing program will validate our testing results with current industry standards. While our system has been tested by several Tier One Suppliers, these results are not shared with other companies for the obvious competitive reasons. We believe this testing is necessary to enter the next phase of development."

Mr. Mower continued, "We are honored to have such a reputable firm conducting our testing and are very confident our technology will exceed all expectations. Upon completion of this testing, we will then be able to distribute to Tier One Suppliers independent, third party results by a nationally recognized and certified facility. This will assist us in current negotiations as well as in our efforts to attract new customers. These are exciting times at Flexpoint as we move closer to our automotive goals."

Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. has developed and patented the Bend Sensor® technology. The Bend Sensor is a technological breakthrough that offers a superior solution for applications that require accurate measurement and sensing of deflection, acceleration and range of motion. Global market opportunities include automotive, medical, industrial controls, government, health and fitness, security, computer, aerospace, transportation and consumer products.
